The science behind the ingredients
Collagen hydrolysate has been tested in dogs. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 30 dogs with osteoarthritis, 8 weeks of daily collagen hydrolysate significantly improved vitality and reduced stiffness and lameness (Beynen et al., American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, 2010).
A 2024 placebo-controlled trial in 31 dogs with osteoarthritis found that bioactive collagen peptides improved gait and quality of life (PLOS ONE, 2024).
These are studies of the ingredient class, not trials of NutriFlex® Advanced itself.

How to give it

How soon will I see a difference?
Give NutriFlex® Advanced at least 8 weeks, which is how long the dogs in the Beynen collagen study were measured over. Some notice it sooner: Stella saw her dog Tyson more willing to go on walks after 1 tub.
Why a powder instead of soft chews or tablets?
Soft chews and tablets need binders, fillers and flavourings to hold their shape and stay soft on the shelf. A powder needs none of them, so every gram of NutriFlex® Advanced is an active ingredient: 5,000 mg of joint nutrition in every 5 g scoop. You can also match the serving exactly to your pet's weight. Cats that refuse tablets eat it without noticing.
Does NutriFlex® Advanced contain fillers or synthetic ingredients?
No. Every scoop is 100% active ingredients: collagen, OptiMSM and vitamin C. There are no fillers, bulking agents, binders, artificial flavours, colourants, preservatives or added sugar such as maltodextrin or dextrose.

Do cats need joint support too?

Does it contain, taste or smell of shellfish?
No. NutriFlex® Advanced contains no shellfish, fish or marine ingredients. It has no smell. The collagen comes from bovine sources (types I and III) and chicken sternum cartilage (type II), hydrolysed into small peptides.
Can I give my dog human collagen instead?
Human collagen isn't harmful to dogs, but it's the wrong product for them. Human supplements are dosed for human bodies and often contain sweeteners, flavours or preservatives dogs don't need. Many are marine-derived, which dogs with fish allergies react to. NutriFlex® Advanced is dosed by your pet's body weight with nothing added.
Does collagen have side effects?
Collagen is a food protein and dogs and cats tolerate it well. The one effect pet parents occasionally see is mild digestive upset in the first few days, such as loose stools, gas or a change in appetite. It settles as digestion adjusts. If it doesn't, halve the serving for a week and build back up.
