OmegaMax Fish Oil is a daily omega-3 supplement made for dogs and cats. This liquid fish oil product contains EPA and DHA, two essential fatty acids sourced from wild sardines and anchovies.
Dogs and cats need omega-3s at every life stage, growing, ageing, or anywhere in between. Since they can’t make these fatty acids on their own, diet is the only source. A daily dose of purified, high-quality Omega-3 fish oil formulated with added natural vitamin E is the simplest way to support your pet’s skin health, joint mobility and cognitive function.
Shine Up Their Coat. Clear Up Their Skin.
Help reduce dryness, soothe irritated skin, and improve coat condition. Each pump of OmegaMax delivers a high-strength dose of omega-3s (EPA + DHA) from wild sardines and anchovies fished from Iceland’s cold, clean waters. It’s especially beneficial for pets struggling with excessive shedding, flaking or hotspots.
This is a high-purity Omega-3 product for pets formulated to hydrate from the inside out so your pet doesn’t just feel better; they look better. Glossy coat. Soft fur. Less shedding on your floor. Less scratching through the night.
OmegaMax is a low-odour, purified fish oil supplement you can pump directly onto your pet’s food. It delivers real results with zero mess.
Ease the Stiffness. Bring Back the Bounce.
If your pet is stiff or slow, it’s not “just age.” It’s inflammation. OmegaMax omega-3 supplement targets the root cause of inflammation. With 18% EPA and 12% DHA per bottle, it helps lubricate joints, reduce discomfort, and support smoother movement.
Perfect for senior pets, large breeds, or dogs and cats struggling with arthritis or hip issues. No tablets, no syringes. Just a daily pump of this potent, vet-approved liquid omega-3 product into their food helps maintain flexibility, support recovery and keep pets moving.
Build Brainpower. Stay Sharp for Longer.
Your pet’s brain needs fuel, especially when they’re growing, training, or starting to slow down. The DHA in our Fish Oil supports healthy brain development and cognitive function at every stage of life.
Whether a distracted puppy still in training or an ageing cat showing signs of slowing down, this omega-3 fish oil formula supports mental clarity, focus, and responsiveness. DHA is crucial for brain development and staying sharp with age; most pets don’t get enough of it.
Our premium Liquid Fish Oil is easy to administer, packaged in an eco-friendly, BPA-free bottle with an easy-to-use pump, making daily supplementation mess-free.
OmegaMax Omega-3 Fatty Acids are purified to minimise fishy odour while preserving the naturally delicious taste pets love. It’s certified human-grade quality and molecularly distilled, guaranteeing that it’s free from toxins, zero mercury, heavy metals and impurities, providing your furry friend with the nourishment they need for optimal health.
This mess-free liquid Omega-3 fish oil is a veterinary-approved health supplement for dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. Each pump (2ml) of OmegaMax liquid fish oil contains a minimum of 18% EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and 12% DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) Polyunsaturated Omega-3 Fatty Acids, ensuring your pet gets the Omega-3 boost they need for an active, happier and healthier life.

Why our Omega-3 includes vitamin E
Not all fish oils are created equal. Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are powerful for skin, coat, joints, heart and brain health, but they’re also very fragile.
Without protection, these delicate fats can oxidise (go rancid):
-
In the bottle during storage and shipping
-
Inside your dog’s or cat’s body after feeding
Oxidised oil doesn’t just lose its benefits; it can actually create harmful free radicals, increasing oxidative stress instead of reducing it.
The OmegaMax vitamin E difference
We add natural mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E) directly into our Omega-3 oil. This does two things:
-
Protects the oil: Natural vitamin E stabilises the fish oil, preventing oxidation and rancidity.
That keeps EPA and DHA fresh, potent and effective. -
Protects your pet: Omega-3 supplementation increases the body's demand for vitamin E.
We include vitamin E upfront, so your pet’s own reserves aren’t depleted.
Natural. Balanced. Safe
-
We use a premium source of natural mixed tocopherols (not low-grade synthetic vitamin E).
-
Each millilitre (ml) of oil delivers not only ~300 mg EPA and DHA, but also ~25.6 mg Natural Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E as d-α-tocopherol: ≈ 4.6 IU). This is the correct antioxidant balance to protect these fatty acids and your pet's natural vitamin E reserves.
-
Unlike synthetic vitamin E, our natural vitamin E extract contains the full spectrum of natural tocopherols (α, β, γ, δ) for superior antioxidant protection.
- This provides broader, more effective antioxidant protection than single-form synthetic alternatives, making every daily dose of OmegaMax both potent and safe for long-term use.
Why it matters
Other fish oil brands may skip this step, leaving you with an unstable product or use synthetic vitamin E that doesn’t deliver what your pet really needs. By including a natural source of Vitamin E, we ensure every drop of our Omega-3 is stable, biologically appropriate and safe for long-term use, protecting the omega-3 and the pet consuming it.
EPA and DHA explained (and why pets need them)
- EPA is the anti-inflammatory workhorse. It down-regulates inflammatory signalling (eicosanoids, cytokines) that drive itchy skin, stiff joints and chronic discomfort.
- DHA is a structural fat. It integrates into the membranes of brain, nerve, and retinal cells, supporting cognition, learning, vision, and normal neurological function.
- Dogs and cats cannot synthesise EPA and DHA in meaningful amounts.
- Plant omega-3s (ALA from flax/chia) must be converted to EPA/DHA — pets convert poorly and inefficiently.
- Modern pet diets are typically omega-6 heavy, which promotes inflammation unless balanced with EPA/DHA.
- Dry, itchy skin and dull coat
- Joint stiffness and reduced mobility
- Slower recovery from inflammation or injury
- Cognitive decline with age (especially in senior pets)
EPA and DHA are essential, not optional. They help control inflammation, protect joints, support skin and coat health, and maintain brain and nervous system function throughout life. The most reliable way to supply them is through a marine-derived omega-3 source with clearly stated EPA and DHA levels.
Why pets can’t make EPA and DHA (the biochemistry)
- EPA and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids.
- To make them, the body must convert a short-chain omega-3 called ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) through a multi-step enzymatic pathway.
- This pathway requires efficient Δ6-desaturase and elongase enzymes.
- Dogs have very limited Δ6-desaturase activity.
- Cats have almost none. They are obligate carnivores and rely on pre-formed fats from animal sources.
- As a result, conversion of ALA → EPA → DHA is negligible (often <5% in dogs, effectively zero in cats).
- Flaxseed, chia and other plant oils supply ALA, not EPA or DHA.
- Without efficient conversion, ALA remains biologically weak for controlling inflammation, supporting brain function, and providing joint support.
- Modern pet diets are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which compete for the same enzymes.
- This further suppresses EPA/DHA production and shifts the body toward a pro-inflammatory state.
Pets cannot rely on internal synthesis to meet their EPA and DHA needs. These fats must be preformed and supplied through the diet, ideally from marine sources where EPA and DHA are already in their active, usable forms.
What omega-3 (EPA & DHA) deficiency looks like in pets
- Dry, itchy skin and flaky dandruff
- Dull, brittle coat with increased shedding
- Redness or recurrent skin irritation
- Stiffness, reduced mobility, slower warm-up or reluctance to exercise
- Slower recovery after activity or injury
- Reduced focus or responsiveness
- Cognitive decline in senior pets
- Poor visual development in growing animals (DHA-dependent)
- Heightened inflammatory responses
- Weaker barrier function in the skin and gut
- Increased sensitivity to environmental triggers
- Cell membrane fluidity
- Inflammatory signalling control
- Nervous system structure and function
Omega-3 deficiency doesn’t show up as a single symptom. Instead, it gradually leads to problems such as dull skin and coat, joint stiffness, slower healing, and reduced resilience. Regular intake of pre-formed EPA and DHA helps restore balance and support long-term health.
Omega-3 vs Omega-6: what matters for pets?
- Found in poultry fat, seed oils and many commercial pet foods
- Necessary for normal skin structure and immune response
- Excess omega-6 drives pro-inflammatory signalling when not balanced
- EPA and DHA from marine sources counterbalance inflammation
- Support joints, skin, brain function and cardiovascular health
- Act as precursors to anti-inflammatory mediators
- Modern pet diets are typically very high in omega-6 and low in omega-3
- Both fatty acids compete for the same enzymes
- When omega-6 dominates, inflammation becomes easier to trigger and harder to resolve
- Omega-6 supports normal tissue function
- Omega-3 (EPA & DHA) regulates inflammation and restores control
- Adequate omega-3 intake shifts the body from a reactive state to a regulated one
Pets don’t need less omega-6 — they need enough omega-3 to balance it. Supplying pre-formed EPA and DHA is the most effective way to restore that balance and support long-term skin, joint and immune health.
Can I give fish oil daily?
- EPA and DHA are incorporated into cell membranes over time
- Their anti-inflammatory effects are cumulative, not immediate
- Irregular dosing delivers inconsistent benefits
- Use a product with clearly stated EPA and DHA levels
- Dose according to your pet’s weight and condition
- Start low and increase gradually to support tolerance
- Pets with bleeding disorders
- Pets on anticoagulant or anti-inflammatory medication
- Before surgery (temporary pause may be advised)
- Choose marine-sourced fish oil
- Look for antioxidant protection (e.g. vitamin E) to prevent oxidation
- Avoid products with vague “omega-3” claims and no EPA/DHA disclosure
Daily fish oil supplementation is safe and effective for most dogs and cats when properly dosed. Consistency and quality are what determine results.
Natural Vitamin E vs Synthetic Vitamin E in Omega-3 Oil
- Natural vitamin E (often labelled d-alpha-tocopherol) is extracted from plant oils and exists in the form the body recognises and utilises most efficiently.
- Synthetic vitamin E (dl-alpha-tocopherol) is chemically manufactured and contains a mix of mirror-image molecules, not all of which the body uses well.
- Natural vitamin E is more bioavailable, meaning that your pet’s body absorbs and retains it better.
- Synthetic vitamin E mixes usable and less usable forms, so you need more of it to achieve the same antioxidant protection.
- Better antioxidant protection means the omega-3 oil stays fresher, more stable, and more effective.
Because OmegaMax uses natural vitamin E, the omega-3 fatty acids are better protected against oxidation. That preserves potency, maximises benefits and reduces the risk of rancid off-flavours that can upset digestion.
For dogs and cats, natural vitamin E is equally safe but more effective at protecting fats in the body and in the bottle. You get more antioxidant activity per milligram compared with synthetic forms.
Choosing a fish oil with natural vitamin E isn’t just marketing; it means the omega-3 you’re feeding your pet stays stable and bioactive longer, giving you real, measurable benefit rather than degraded fats with lower efficacy.
